SHOGUN STYLE PERFFORMANCE is now building exclusive school car for Dai's Driving Academy, which is 240SX with minimum cost drift modification on its suspension and LSD. Suspension is sponsered by TOKICO and SWIFT, and its LSD will be simply welded for drifting purpose. The owner, Matt Monaco himself will attend in coaching beginner drifters with this school car. Its rental fee including his coaching for two hours will be $150 plus tire cost of $50 each tire used.

MINI SWAP MEET FOR ALL DRIVERS/GUEST/STAFF

This is another trial for all participants to have a chance to get rid of sleeping parts at home. Exclusive area and sales attendance for all day will be available at $10 for 5 items. Cash sales bring cash back at the end of the day, and credit card sales will receive check in mail after card company's transaction. In order to have equal opportunity for all grip drivers and also to have good distribution of derivers in two grip courses, we may need grouping of grip drivers in 2 or 3 groups.

Take FWY #5, and get off at SAND CANYON exit. At the south side under FWY #5, there’s
MARINE WAY. Proceed to the end of MARINE WAY, then TURN RIGHT. You’ll soon find our registration tent on the entry way at left. Sign on the waiver form and get colored WRIST BAND according to the instruction. Those without our wrist band are not allowed at our event location.
You will find GATE at the end of MARINE WAY. From there, turn right and follow DRIVE CENTER indication to our registration tent.

We’ll start Tech Check at 8:00AM at the event location, but it’s also available FREE at following locations;

Tire Services will be offered by DTC Lake Forest as the last time
Special thanks to Earnie Gonzales :yum: for his continuous arrangement with DTC Lake Forest, where special tire setting prices and special drift tire prices are offered exclusively for Academy drivers on the event day only.

No Food Sales is available this time. Drinks at JDM OPTION tent
Sorry, but El Ojo de Agua, the best Taco Shop from Riverside, is not available this time. Please arrange meals by yourselves, or please get outside El Toro during noon-1:00PM lunch break. Cold drinks will be purchased at JDM OPTION tent.

CLEANING is requested by the location management
After the event, Shogun Style staffs and vendors always clean up all the courses and parking area - cans, food and drink bottles, tire rubbers, cigarette buds and so on. We prepare trash bags for all drivers this time. So, your cleaning of pit area before leaving would be appreciated, The location managemetn will charge us for uncleaned area, using contract services, which makes us difficult to keep organizing this event in the future. So, please help us.

We, JDM OPTION, bring some used parts, Yashio temp meters at special price, etc. Bring your unnecessary parts, sitting in your garage, and leave them at our Swap Meet sales attendance for $10 each 5 items. You'll get cash if sold in cash, and will receive check(off tax amount from the sales price) in mail if sold by credit card.

Well I showed up at 1pm cus I was not feeling well from long night. But I am so glad I made it. Got 80% of the bugs out of my car and finally got the tuning down towards end of the day. I wish I came earlier and brought more tires...lol

hey guys, I talked to an employee of the el toro base, and she said that Dai's drift might not be able to run there anymore because of some guys who were drifting outside of the designated areas. Apparently, they started harassing her because she called security on them because of the fact that they were drifting and doing burnouts outside of the designated areas, and they even waited for her outside of the track, and on the freeway. She said they cut in front of her on the freeway and "brake checked" her. Anyone know more information about this? I would hate for them to have to shut down el toro on us.

When someone doesn't have the common sense to drift/grip on the drift/grip course that is provided THEN he/she FUCKS it up for everyone!

So i just got done talking to Hiro and he is very upset with those individuals that decided to turn a perfectly good practice event for both grip and drift up side down. YOU KNOW WHO I'M TALKING ABOUT! :nono: El toro will not allow Dai's driving academy to host any events in the near future due to those less undignified individuals which made unjustified decisions to practice their driving off the race course provided. I was really looking forward to the NEXT event in Nov. 1 but it seems there won't be any for awhile, AS FAR AS EL TORO GOES.

The bright side is hiro is looking around and searching for a new venue where he could host the future events! SO STAY TUNED! ;)

This really leaves a dissatisfying taste in my mouth and its making me really upset! :wtf:

This is lame, this is one of the events I had been watching and as soon as my car was ready(which it is now) I was gonna sign up. Always some disrespectful assholes that have to ruin it for everyone. Well nobody is going to release any info if you guys are riling up to kick the dude's ass.
As despicable as the dude might be,
nobody wants to think they were responsible for giving out info that got him in the hospital.

However Dai's driving event handles this, is no doubt their own affair.
To be fair, I hope they can establish stricter rules when it comes to something like this.
Perhaps things could be done a bit differently next time.
IF the said driver was kicked out at the first sign of trouble,
perhaps this wouldn't have even been an issue.
It makes you appreiciate how come some track event groups are as strict as they are.

Could have also been the 'El Toro' owners were not explicit about their expectations.
It's hard to have full control over everyone all the time at almost any event.
It seems harsh that they would kick out Dai's event just b/c of 1 arguably harmless (even if annoying) incident.
El Toro is most likely also being just anal.

Venues are everywhere though!
CA Speedway is pretty decent.
SCCA autoX and Speedventures autoX regularly host events there.
I'm sure Willow Springs would work out, but that might be a longer drive for some.

I was pretty upset when I read what happened earlier at El Toro after this event. Being one of the main event coordinators for Drift Association and being a contact between our organization and El Toro I understood what the consequences could be once El Toro caught on to what happened. I was there when we took responsibility for what happened at the Greddy Festival and El Toro does not take incidences like this lightly.

As an event organizer, you are responsible for those who attend the events and the individuals they invite. With the exception of the Greddy event, we have never received any complaints about not obeying the speed limit on the property or having any of our drivers go off and do things they shouldn't be doing.

Instead of speculating what is shown only what's on the outside (the guy doing donuts in the balloon area) has anyone considered there might be other factors on why Dai's organization is not allowed back? There are internal conflicts between the Dai's Driving Academy and El Toro that no one knows about. I'm not airing their dirty laundry. That is between the organizer and the venue.

I am upset about this whole situation, because after several months of staff internally vouching for us at El Toro and hosting several redeeming events, we get kicked out because of what happened here. So as of right now, there is no drifting allowed at El Toro period.

I don't have anything against Dai's Driving Academy. I was considering attending his last event had my car not been in the body shop. I'm just tired of seeing ppl wanting to flame this person who fucked up when the organizer is just as responsible for getting themselves kicked out.

Basically what everyone needs to understand is that we are ALL responsible for what happens
before, during and after the events we attend. From our behavior on and off the track to
making sure we CLEAN. UP after ourselves.
The First responsibility falls on the individual. After that it falls on EVERYONE!
Event Organizers are the First to feel the effects of any negative feedback. Don't you think that
they deserve enough consideration for their hard work to at least just behave ourselves?
As of now there is NO drifting at El Toro. We almost lost Willow Springs! Wake up people!
We can't afford to lose ANY venues! We need More!
One bad apple will ruin it for everyone.
