i did the sohc to dohc mod Converting Your SOHC Tach to Read DOHC Signal: 240sx Articles: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/272023) and my car started for 2 seconds but was runnin like crap. i tried to start it again and heard a pop almost sounded like it was coming from the ecu. now my car doesnt start, i didnt have the time to pull the plugs and check if it was gettin spark and fuel, but i checked all the fues that i thought it would be from and they all looked good.

ya the sensor is good i forgot to cut the wire that ran back to the ecu. so i think my ecu is blown. is there away to test it?

I would check the ECU for a short possible wiring issue. If I were you I'd just look for a DOHC cluster and just take off the Tach it's only held by 3 screws and keep your SOHC cluster so you keep your exact odometer.

Turn your key to IGN ON and turn the knob on the ECU counter clockwise for a second and turn it back. It should give you some codes. If no light at all then chances are its blown. GL!

i would say double check the 75A, that loud pop sounds like that fuse...atleast for me...and double check everything else... SOHC Ecu's are hard to come by

I know on the s13 DOHC engines the ecu doesn't matter if it's manual or auto, and if anything the auto is actually a bit better as it has a leaner base fuel map (better mileage, more power). Doesn't throw any codes either. I don't know if it's the same with the SOHC
