universal fan clutch?

I need a new fan clutch for my 89 240 as it is making this loud whirring noise when the fan is spinning at high RPMs. I had a quote put out for it from a local nissan dealership and they quoted me

21082-40F00 fan clutch $ 296.78 CDN.

Ouch....

So i was wondering if this part is fairly universal? i.e. can I go to the junk yard and find one off another nissan car as their is no junker 240s where I live. Lots of stanzas.. and a few others.

Any ideas? or should I just go ahead and get a new one?

Or should I scrap the whole idea and convert everything to electric fans?

Yup. Convert it. You'll free up power, and save a lot of money. 14" permacool fan is $89.99 from Jegs.com and the wiring kit is $17.99.
