SORRY GUYS I FIGURED NOBODY WOULD CARE ABOUT WHAT IM DOING SO I DIDNT BOTHER WITH THOSE DETAILS... GUYS THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED... It takes about 1 can per section like the back and the bottom. Its more of looks then function because you can rub it off if you try hard enough but anybody who owns a s13 knos that the back seat if they still have it gets little action. http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i254/Civic1993honda/IMG_0996.jpg

I'm not sure about the duplicolor brand, but I know for sure that SEM sells a can of black that I have used, that is very similar to that stuff. and it has held up really well on carpet, door panels, and seat belts for me, for 2 years so far.
i found a link to some info, but i have found it at local supply stores as well.

R & E Paint Supply. SEM 15013, Landau Black, Flexible Coating, 12 oz Aerosol (http://www.repaintsupply.com/pd_landaublack.cfm)

this stuff pretty much rocks, although i am guessing that similar results could be achieved with either, just wanted to let you guys know what i use.

anyways, car looks good so far bro. I really like the seats as well, came out really good.
hope you take your time in the engine bay while you have the motor out. too many guys just drop in a new motor without cleaning or painting :/

good luck!

But heY atleast they have 1 good section on there car to talk about hey :gives:... Any ways im doing it and ill keep you guys posted Im not building fast because well like the title says poor mans budget with bills but ill get it done sooner or later.. What if would leave the seats out on the sun to let it dry and maybe set (cook) in the fabric that way it wouldnt smell, or how about that fabric dye RIT, would that work also?

just wondering since I've been looking to do these for a while and just want to make sure i do it right :)

But your seats came out great and now I really want to do it.

Good luck with your project

I honestly put no thought into the smell. I doubt its gonna bother me at all and i always have the windows open and if they do smell i get a bottle of febreezz or somthing similar and poor it on them a little bit im sure it will be gone... But on the dye I never thought about it i just got sick of my seats looking the way they did and my 91 range rover i had i painted alot of the interior with this stuff and it held on well but it was a off road truck so no cares about what it look like. This I would like to look decent because my seats had stains and were grey and didnt match anything else so they had to go...

i used the same stuff to "paint" my headliner black, and my roommate used it way back to do his front seats in one of his cars. it turns the materialall crunchy and rubs off on your clothes. but if it's for the back seat, like he said, it doesn't really matter.

Use SEM products to get away from the crunchy/rubbing off on your clothes. Much better quality than the duplicolor if you are actually planning to use the seat/seats.
