I got this!!!

a 1998 Subaru Legacy GT Wagon! Cool thing is, they didnt make many old GTs in wagon form, and the Red ones in GT wagons are even more rare. yay me!

it has an over heating issue but whatever.

I'm pulling the engine this week and sending the heads out to see what I'm up against. The previous owner's "mechanic" told him that one of the heads had to be cracked to cause the frequent overheating. I think it may just be headgaskets, and hey why not reseal the engine and slap on a new timing belt right?



AND YES IT FEELS WEIRD OWNING A CAR NEWER THAN 1991.

Gah, this makes me sad. I was going to trade my 240 for a silver one. The owner rolled it before we traded. :(

This should be in Premie section, but whatever.

You should import a Japanese TT motor for it.

They have so much TQ and they sound like a freakin' V8. I miss our Legacy GT.

fender damage is from the previous owner getting into fisticuffs with someone and the kid kicking in the fender afterwords.

hood damage is from a shortbus backing over it.

update!!!

the engine is torn down, the heads and block.....ARE NOT WARPED!!!!

therefore the car will be getting new headgaskets, as well as some other maintenance goodies and being put back together.

pics of the progress from last night to minutes ago.....and yes I cleaned and prepped the heads and block myself, no i did not send them out to a machine shop because it isnt necessary.

also, I found a kid on the legacy forums with a fender that has a small dent but is actually fixable, unlike the trashed one on my car now.
