Im doing the 5 speed swap, the input shaft wont go in. Im thinking of ideas and reasons why after 8 hours I still couldnt get it on.

does the pilot bearing go ALL the way to the rear of the crank hole? I have it where its about 1/3" recessed, thats the furthest it would go.

Also too, can your clutch become missaligned pretty easily when your trying to wiggle your input shafter into the pilot bearing? I have about 2", and right now its just resting on the trans bushing/crossmember.

no the PB does NOT go all the way to the back of the crank. there is a step that will stop it. missaligned? no, its bolted down...but if u let your tranny rest unsupported with the input in the disc only, there is a chance you can bend your disc.

^^^ I'm with this guy - sounds like it's just not quite aligned right :/

I've never had a huge problem getting trannys on/off on my car, but we did on Nemeguero's last time - shit seemed like it was aligned, you'd get it started, and it wouldn't want to make that jump into the splines... hate to say it, but you'll get it eventually!
