Hey Guys I'm in the middle of chainging the timing chain on a 89 s13. The crank pulley became stuck while rotating the crank to get the engine at TDC. It wont turn clockwise anymore, the car is not in gear.

Any help or advice will be appreciated

Turn it harder, or make it easier by pulling the plugs

how come you are changing your timing chain? did it break? if it broke maybe ur hitting a bent valve

use a breaker bar on the crank pulley and don't be a wuss.

it's supposed to get hard to turn. or else you'd have zero compression.

I highly doubt it wont turn anymore unless you have a serious motor issue. Im a weak ass kid and I can spin my ka with regular 1/2 drive wrench and one hand.

pull plugs to make it easier but if it still won't go then you got a bigger problem in there.

The timing chain was in good condition, there are no bent valves as far as i know. But while rotating the crank to TDC the valves did make clicking noises and then a decompression noise like air was being let out at pressure.

I've already pulled the plugs and was able to turn the crank about 20 rotations but now its totally stuck and will not rotate anymore.

Are u turning the motor without a timing chain???

The tensioner on the right side is off but there is still enough tension in the chain to pull the crank and pulley together when I rotate the crank.

if it wont turn, something is wrong. you turned it 20 times with no tensioner? why would u turn it so many times? is the timing still correct?

...did you replace the cams? did you put them back in correctly?

sounds like it jumped a couple teeth on the chain.
