i just got some 16x7 SSR mesh (thanks max), and im trying to figure out what tire size to put on there. i have narrowed it down to the following:
205/50/16
205/55/16

what is everyone else running? i wouldnt mind going with a little less diameter for more accelration, but i know it wouldnt be enough to notice a difference. i just dont want to make my wheels look to small, giving it that "skateboard" look. anyone got some pointers here?? thanks.

50 profile is a good bet to keep your speedo closer in line, and also to reduce sidewall flex. Although you could step up the section width a bit too, 215 or even 225/45 should fit. More grip and less sidewall are always good things...

i assume this is for drifting chris? keep the 205s! 16s are harder to break on the stock KA, believe me, i tried! haha..15s are easier by far.

you can do 16s w/ the KA w/o problem, but takes more work. 15s are just so easy.

erm, well for drifting... I guess more grip isn't necessarily a good thing :D

So depending on your purpose, never mind what I said heheh...

nah, grip is EXTREMELY important in drifting

drifting is all about traction

its about how much you can control. if he had more power, i'd say go 225 or whatever he wanted beause he could still break it loose. but stock KA..no no, its a lot more work.

chris do you have a LSD?? i thought you had vlsd? i forget.

anyways, 205s will have very little sidewall bulge and flex. that's a good thing!

i knew mister RS*R himself would come through. hahaha
i just figured since i have 15 inch rims on my 86, a 16 on the 240 would be fine. so i guess i'll go with 205/55/16 for some more grip and control. 50 would be cool but i want a bit of meat on there in case i hit a curb or pot holes. i already popped 2 of my 50's on my corolla. thank god for discount tires road hazard warranty! and hey if i can break those 215/45/17's loose, i think a 205/55/16 will be okay.

and yeah, i have a stock hicas vlsd. but hey, works fine for me!!

thanks guys.

I'm running 225/50 on 16x7.5 rims.

No bulging on my tires... I love the setup!
