Hey Guys, I have been searching all day trying to find an answer to this question. I have a pair of evo 9 seats that I am trying to fit into my s13 hatchback. Everyone says that every rail they use is too high and they won't fit. Has anyone successfully installed these seats in their car and if so what rails did you use? Thanks and pics would help if it's not too much trouble :)

I tried and was not able to mount Evo Recaros in an S13 with no mods. I used Bride bottom mount rails.

I do not know anyone in person who was able to do so.

So you were able to use the Bride MO rails to get them to fit? Did you have to use the adapter plates from Bride to get the bolts to line up? Does the seat sit low enough or is it kinda high? Thanks for your help!

I want to see some pics of this... The evo has alot of head room and thats why they would fit tall in your cars.. but thats cool to hear someone made them fit... i dont fit in a stock s13 with a helmet so unless the seats are directly bolted to the ground they probably wouldnt be up my alley.. lol

Good luck and lets see some pics..!

Even with just the seat on top of the rail, the seat is too tall. With the adaptor plate it would definitely not work.

It's too high and almost to the point of hitting your head on the roof. It definitely did not clear my rollcage.

From what I've seen, the only way to get Evo seats to fit is to fabricate your own rails.

Ah I got ya, that's exactly what I needed to know. I was planning on getting those Bride bottom mount rails and trying them but you just saved me from spending money on rails that don't work. Thanks!

im running wedge engineering brackets on my evo 9's. yes they do bolt to the seat sliders but are a little high. i love the way they feel tho and aren't gonna change them. to change the height all you have to do it notch the bar out of the way and lower the front of the seat down. heres some shitty pictures to give you an idea.....http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o93/AnthonyDiCarlo/IMG00140.jpg

Just for reference. How much headroom do you have?

Stock S13/14/Z33 have about 36-38" depending on equipment. Mine with the floorpan flattened and seat straight on the floor has 43".

What do you have?

Yes, from where your butt is to the roof.

I would also be interested in that measurement.

Evo seats just sit high, there is no bracket that will lower the seat anymore. The bottom of my seat damn near hits the floor board, the seat cannot go lower.

Like I said, the seat itself is high.

from the bottom where your ass is to the head liner i got a measurement of 34"

You have to make custom brackets. Here is a link of some installed in a S13 from a local forum here in NC. Hope it helps

If my buddy and I can put the Evo 9 recaro's in a civic, I'm pretty sure it's just as easy to put it in a s13 hatch. It's all about the bracket. Just make your own, a lil welding here, lil welding there, small bend here...some bolts here, and stick it in!

:)
