rb25det - getting gauges to work r33 cluster?

I searched all over the place to get a defenite answer on the r33 cluster dilemma.


what would be the easiest cheapest way to getting a dash to work.

making one from scratch (custom), finding a way to make the stock cluster to work with the swap, or r33 cluster?




i seen a few s14s with r33 clusters but will it fit on the s13 and will it just be plug and play.


i honestly searched and i find r33 cluster going for 300 bucks

and then i see them one on CLs for 70 bucks. :eek3:

stock clusters work. they just need to be calibrated. the tach must be from a DOHC, and must be calibrated for 6 cyl. you have a few options.

1. lsauto.com - they sell calibrated gauges to replace the ones in your stock cluster. i actually picked up their speedo

2. use tachs/speedo's (just the tach put into your stock cluster) from other cars. i actually was using a v6 maxima tach for awhile in my stock s13 cluster, but the fitment was so bad i changed to a j30 tach which fits almost perfect, but a little bit smaller which is easy to make look alright. just need to fill a small gap

3. search the forums on how to calibrate it yourself. its been covered TONS of times, i know for a fact on nico. probablly on here too.

4. contact Carl H and pay him to do your calibration. ive never seen him post here but i know he does on nico and 240sxforums

if you are really desperate to use a r33 cluster, you must not be searching hard enough, because i have seen it a few times but i dont remember any of the details of the installs.

should of searched nicco and here then ha google search didnt give me much.


but allright thanks man. i looked onto the PS pump and compressor like you told me and got those outa the way (till i try to install them that is)

and ill go with that LS automotive route with the 180 mph speedo and the modded tach.

all i need to do now is take out the manual windows mechanism and get some power ones
