hey, so i've already posted this to freshalloy. i dont mean to cross post, but i've been monkeying around with this for 3 weeks and really need to get this solved... and i figure not everyone visits both forums, so maybe you guys can help.

so i bought my 89 240sx and have been trying to get it to pass emissions for the last 3 weeks. it does have a hotshot header put on by the previous owner, that's the only engine mod on the car... but from what i understand that should only really effect the NOX emissions. so to fix the is what i've done:

new PCV valve, oil change, plugs (gapped correctly this time. thanks old owner who only seemed to properly gap one of his plugs), check air filter, rewired the cluster**** that was the wiring to the o2 sensor (also replaced with an OEM bosch O2 sensor), coolant temp sensor, cleaned the MAF and MAF housing with 99% isopropyl alcohol, cleaned out part of my intake mani and throttle body. I no longer throw any codes to the ECU, and driving around during a realtime diagnostic doesn't seem to throw any codes. and cleaned the reed valves in my AIV with a dremmel and some carb cleaner.

basically, my NOX emissions are high, but passable and my CO emissions pass (just barely) at the 15mph test, but fail during the 25mph test. heres a copy of the emissions sheet i had my emissions shop print out for me.

if anyones ever seen an emissions sheet that looks like that and has any ideas about how i might go about fixing it, i'm aaalll ears. the guys at the shop saw my sheet and didn't really know what to do. possibly a bad ground somewhere?

on the plus side, i've been driving around town with no plates for 3 weeks... and even went to the first autox of the season in an unregistered vehicle! woot! =)
