was wondering how you advance the timming on a 90 240?????????and if it wll make any difference if you do ??

If the SOHC motor is similar to the DOHC in this respect, there will be a couple of bolts for the distributor which you can loosen and will allow you to twist the whole shebang. You may see minor (very minor) improvement, but the risk of detonation in my opinion isn't worth it. I'd say just leave it at stock timing.
