So who has a yashio factory water temp meter? Does it work on a ka? i searched and all i can find is where people ask the question but it never gets answered. What does the temp meter read from? Also does it plug in to the consult plug? i have read where some people say they can only get power from that plug and thats it.

Yeah as far as I know it works on any car

All it does is measure water temperature with the probe

So its not motor or car specific

If you're talking about the Okachan water temp gauge I had one of those

Wired it up like a normal gauge, had the probe in a upper radiator hose fitting

All g

do you think your water temp shall sky rocket with the forced induction route you're taking? you know with the hole you cut in the license plate area of the type x bumper? lol

I have been told for some reasson on a ka it will not display all the other readings. But the same consult plug type will do it on a sr. Why is that?

Dousan_PG

So I looked this up to what in hell you're talking about. If it plugs into and reads from the CONSULT, which it appears that it does, it will work on any 91-up Nissan, period. I don't know why you'd think it's engine specific when the CONSULT port is clearly a Nissan mandated port, but whatever. Plug it in and use it. Done.

Thanks russ. What i was asking about is rather it will read. rev's,speed and all the other things its suppouse to do. I read that for some reasson it will only read them on a sr only. i have no idea why.

I think some one may have installed it to use as a tach or something on a ka and since they had no functioning tach already, they get no signal. Just a guess. If the ecu sees it then a functioning consult port should dispaly it. I tried to explain it but, whatever! I suck and it's 4:55am

Doesn't make a lot of sense, the CONSULT is three wires on all Nissan ECUs, they all transmit data, the unit will have to read any of them the same.
