Knights are hosting it. the track layout will be full track for advanced drivers and the infield/low banks for beginners that have been wanting to come to the orange show but didnt want to ride the walls. drivers rosters are getting filled fast guys so if your interested then please PM for paypal address. there are a couple companies that have already signed up that are bringing out some good drivers so even if you miss your chance to drive in it, we hope to see you there just to watch.:wiggle:

I did receive those payments by the way. seems like alot of guys are confused and asking alot of questions about the track. the NOS center is located in san bernadino pretty much central to most of us here in so cal. It usually cost around $150 to run there and normally ran as a full track with the high banks and infield aimed at more or less an advanced group of drivers. THIS EVENT on Jan 17th however will be set for both advanced AND beginner by setting a nice size course in the infield for ANY drivers skill to run with a track layout alittle larger than WSIR's balcony track. if any of you drivers here like driving balcony then you will love the infield course here as there are no haybails or dirt drops so you can really focus on getting that much MORE sideways as you slide in a group of only 10 drivers! massive amounts of track time for the stadium people.

ok heres an offer . i am going to be running a mini grass roots level drift clinic(sorry no pro teachers here)group for all those that are looking for some help in getting better and just cant figure out what they are doing wrong or what they need to do different.i am offering my self for one on one lessons and sessions. this is open to all drivers . so if you are afraid to come out because youve never drifted. the only way you ever will learn to drift is to get out there and do it. so to everyone that has signed up if you have any freinds that have a car and wanna learn to drift tell them to sign up. ill be there to teach and along with the rest of the staff that can help you all out with pointers.

just to clarify. drift 101 is held by Drift Day LLC ONLY ,and is taught by professional instructors. we have a couple guys coming out that might want a few tips from us on team thurs. knights then we can assist with what knowledge we have on more of a friend to friend tips and tricks deal. just like most grassroots level drift events we are just there to have fun.

thats one thing that we keep on trying to explain to people is that the old setups were hosted by different guys and had ALOT of advanced drivers there. at this one we are going to have a new style for the infield that everyone can enjoy. trust me, I would like to drive my car home as well since its not on a trailer so a safe fun course is key right now. I would have to say even balcony would be more dangerous to drive than our infield setup. NO haybails, NO dirt drops, NO fences. just a big open area with cones! almost like a parking lot event, but its in the middle of a speedway! not many spots left guys DONT SLEEP ON THIS!!! I would rather not just to NOT confuse anyone on the layout. its just pretty much a oval with a infield setup with cones. there were a couple events there awhile back that used part of the infield but we are going to try and maximize the usage of the infield by setting up a course that covers both the left and right side of it all as to just the one side was used last time. we will cover all that in the drivers meeting in the morning of the event and answer ALL questions since there are some drivers on the roster that are not on the forums we would like to make it fair and not repeat info.

PLEASE have a good set of tires to drive home on though. the surface is good here but safety is KEY and that will be a part of tech! remember to get enough sleep the night before and have plenty of water to hydrate yourself. as well as some lunch. some guys usually bring canopys and tents to add alittle shade to the pit area and that is also highly recomended. jack stands MUST be under the car when you are doing any type of maintainance as well.

Great event, but sucky beginning when I had to wait with a couple friends in the morning cuz we couldn't get in as spectators, lol. We should've just slept in later and came when the problems with the venue were resolved, lmao.

Anyway, I got at least one photo of everyone in line and a couple action shots on my camera (I was switching back and forth between stills and video).

I have a video as well, but my laptop parts haven't arrived yet so I can't use my fastest dual core to render the videos and my desktop is even slower. So whether I get my quad core setup or fix my laptop first will determine when I can put out a video.

it was my first event and ill be honest i will a lil nervous. but u got to start somewhere. i did pretty shitty but hey, a great place to do a first event. had a great time. learned alot. and u cant get better without practice. and the advanced drivers yall killed it. so much fun to watch. i recomend any drivers who want to get out and drift, any skill level. DO IT! the location is perfect coming from la or from sd. a great centralized location. and i got to drift on my birthday. the staff did a great job and once again i thank the thursday knights. tommy, steve, amir, elgene, drift day ppl. the staff and whoever else i forgot.

Cool event. I was there filming. The main reason I came out, along with a few VRT friends, was to film. I have never been to that track before, and I've always wanted to go. The event would have been cool if the track officials let us film at the wall. It would have made for a lot better shots. We actually ended up leaving early since we got all the shots we could from what was given to us. It was also surprisingly hot today. More drivers would have also been a cool plus.

Thus. Knights, you guys did a really good job of having everything organized and running smoothly. It's nice that someone is starting to use the Orange Show track again. I'll be looking forward in doing an event at that track with you guys in the future.

Nice job on those pics guys! just want to start off by saying THANK YOU all for coming out and having a good time! I seriously dont think I have had that much fun in a long time. A BIG THANK YOU to all drift day staff and Naoki for the professional attitudes and quality of work from start to finish. We look forward to throwing another one soon guys. I hope ALL the drivers left the track learning something new. we had 3 courses set and it looks like everyone had a blast in all areas. ya, its a dvd that shows some tips and tricks on drifting from Option video. the reason why we chose you is because that was only your second event and you were doing extremely well! I figured you are going to stick with it and continue to come to events so maybe you can try out some different techniques next time just for fun. the other DVD went to the guy with the open diff ( pretty much cuz he had a open diff.) and to Blessing since he went out all gangster and tapped the wall.

FIRST, Thank you all for coming out! Thank you Steve and Team Thursday Nights for the full turn-out! I hope you all had a good time and were able to learn something or improve in some way. The most important thing is to have FUN! That's really what it's all about.

I will personally apologize if there was any misunderstanding on my part as to the session duration. Having done this once or twice before I feel that the 30 minute session time is optimal. It helps to avoid driver fatigue and minimizes the heat related stresses on your vehicles. Each group got the same number of sessions and the same 30 minutes at a time. It is actually more difficult as a track official being that it involves more rotations but I feel that in the end it is to your benefit for the sake of safety and mechanical longevity. As always I am open to suggestions and constructive criticism if you have any.
