Here's a pic of an R33 front end, complete with headlights on a '95-'96 base model. Dude needs some wheels though! Pic is pretty big...

Wow, thats uglier than I thought it would be what the #### is on the roof?!

it just looks sooo, I dono what, just wrong on that car. I would have just done a 95-96 to 97-98 front end conversion and put a body kit on it. Or maybe an s15 conversion but that doesn't look quite right either.

pretty cool, but i've seen 95-96's w/ body kits that i like better, not that that isn't cool though.

looks like it might be the sunroof tilted up at an angle, maybe....

Yeah...I didn't really like the way it looks...I've got a '96, and I told myself that if I ever do a front end swap, it's gonna be to the '97-'98 style...I still like it better than the S15...although the S15 is still very badass!

do u mean wrx....and that hood scoop isnt the same as the wrx that type of hood scoop is 2 left air vent out of the engine bay...a very inportent then for top speeding cuz it add's downforce to the front of the car... the hoos scoop the wrx uses is becuase it comes stock with a engine mounted intercooler...so it pulls air in to cool the intercooler.....which is like the first thing you have to chang on the wrx...

I think he ment World Ralley Circuit or something along that line, or more likely did mean WRX.

Ugly! Don't like the fact that he/she wasted money to do that project. The thing on the roof makes the car look like it shoots missiles or some crazy shit! But as far as the car looks, I give it a 2.

DSC

Hrm...if it really DID shoot missles that would be pretty frickin cool! I'll have to look into this...would give a whole new meaning to road rage.

there r subaru impreza wrc (n i think there's something else added to the name after that), just that most ppl know of the wrx, it's a higher model i guess.

wrc world rally championship?? where the #### did that come from?

11-13-2001, 06:36 PM

RRRRRRRRRice

My personal definition of "rice" is stuff that looks out of place. Well take your pick. The lines on that car are all wrong....the flares (everywhere) are goofy..and those 15 inch wheels look rediculous. Look at that wheel gap...you could fit 22" rims under there for goodness sakes. Also, that wing....where do I start......NO CAR would look good with that wing....but....I could understand if it were functional..but.......the only thing that wing is gonna do is tear its anchor bolts through the sheetmetal at high speeds. Yikes. I do however commend the owner of that car for having the guts to try something new...definite props for that.

The scoop on the roof's of WRC WRX's and some Lancers are functional. They are basically just an air vent to cool the drivers from everything I've heard about them...

That seems about reasonable. I think it also may help a little in keeping the car on the ground, what do you people think? Aerodynamics...

I'd say it's the headlights that make this car kinda weird. S14a with just the R33 front bumper conversion looks pretty good.

they have a skyline kit for the 97-98 model

that probably wouldnt have looked half as bad if they had bothered to use a GTR front instead of a GTS front. I agree it is pretty ugly though.

that skyline style body kit on an s14a looks way better. however the owners of that company are total idiots for referring to an s14a as an s15

s15dude

That guy prolly wanted his S14 to look like the eclipse in the fast and the furious which had a roof scoop and a wing that was too big and unfunctional so he put those on his car.

11-14-2001, 05:49 PM
I don't see any aerodynamic advantage to having a roof scoop, it's functional on WRC cars, so most people don't know what to think of it. I'm positive it's for fresh air for the driver and navigator.
Agree about the wing, if that wing produced the amount of force it's capable of, it would tear through whatever he's got it mounted too. I seriously doubt he's got something substantial to brace that wing on the underside of the trunk.

on WRX cars it is generally to provide air circulation for the dirvers yes... this is also the purpose in GT racing.

the functional roof scoops which i have seen are usually closer to the rear of the hood, and are found on mid/rear engine cars like NSX's, MR2's, and of course, porsches, for fresh intake air.

im sure there are functional roof scoops which will make a difference for aerodynamics, but something else would probably break before he got to the point that he would need it.

oh ok i get it s13grl. yea i love speedvision, watch it all the time (or whenever i can which aint much) that cooling duct could also be for the rear brakes areodynamics might also play a role plus they tend to put air filters high (keeps the dust away)

A friend of mine mentioned this to me, he reads Max-European edition and tells me of these certain cars that have the cone air filter sitting outside of the car. Says it looks badass, but I've never seen any of them. Truth is, I haven't even looked. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

And yeah, Speedvision kicks ass!
