I'm having a hard time figuring out how to describe this, but here goes..a while back I saw someone advertising an SR20 downpipe for sale that was a "split" design(?). It had a 3" inlet that split almost immediately into two 1.5" pipes, and turns back into a 3" at the exit flange. It made the downpipe considerably slimmer while maintaining good flow.

*This is the best visual representation I could find; keep in mind I am looking for a DOWNPIPE and not a cat-back:

That is what the downpipe looked like except it had 3" inlet and outlet, and was obviously shaped like a downpipe and not a WRX rear section.

Can anyone help? I might just go to a shop and have one built, but I'm hoping to find the guy that was selling that one since the price was good. I can pay PayPal or whatever you want. Can pick up in SoCal (I'm in San Diego).

Thanks,

-Blake

You're probably looking for the divirced external wastegated DP's. If you want clearance go with the Dmax/Moonface.
Dmax is cheaper but looks the same..

Is your current dumppipe custom fitted to clear your steering column AND accomodate SR downpipes? I'll probably be smarter to fabricate a dump instead of hacking up a Dmax or Moonface downpipe.

No, I'm not looking for a divorced wastegate-type DP. I'm using a modified stock RB25 dump pipe. From the end of the dump, it has a piece welded in that extends down to mate with a 3" downpipe. I believe my current DP was designed to fit an SR20 dump pipe(?). But with the full 3" diameter the pipe sits super low, and I just want to split that 3" into two smaller pipes to allow me better ground clearance while maintaining the 3" inlet and outlet. I can take some pictures of my current setup tomorrow if that would help.

I would recommend using the moonface style dp. I think circuit sports makes them now aswell. More ground clearance and less obstruction than using a twin chamber style dp.

I think you're talking about the circuit sports downpipe.

Circuit Sports (CS) SR20DET Downpipe + O2 Elbow Extension (http://www.frsport.com/Circuit-Sports--CS--SR20DET-Downpipe---O2-Elbow-Extension_p_1358.html)

naa i know what your talking about it looks like a normal downpipe starts with the flange for the elbow then splits into 2 dual pipes and then towards the cat it becomes a normal exhaust flange.
