Front Strut Bar

When i put a front strut bar on my car what is it going to do performance wise?  Thanks.

all cars r designed and built with body "flex" to absorb "road feel".....small bumps, cracks in the road, etc. anything to make a car ride smoother....thats what Americans want in a new car. by "tieing" a car together with products like strut bars and lower suspension tie bars at the areas that flex u tighten the body. the less body flex (ie a full blown race car) the less movement. less movement/flex leads to better handling.
strut bars inhibit body flex so ur steering becomes more responsive cuz the car is &quot;planted&quot; better on the pavement cuz u tied the strut towers together and stopped the body flex! the next step is lowering springs and sway bars to lessen body &quot;sway&quot;....then uv got a handlin machine!!!!!! make sense..?? post back if <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

front strut bar meaning the tower bar or the lower front sway bar?
they are 2 different things....... basicly the bars do the same thing but in different places..... most people just bolt on the front tower bar under the engine......
they usually cost like $35-75
i know it is really good but i think for that little of a money u should buy it and try it, u will like it.....

Not only does strut bars give better handling, they could actually eliminate some pretty good amount of rattle noises in the car.

Yeah I'm getting an Apex-i carbon fiber front strut bar that bolts on above my engine. &nbsp;Do you think I might actually notice a difference in handling? &nbsp;I'm getting it for $100.

yay the fron/rear upper r great for suspention upgrade....but if you add the front/rear lower....you can feel it like crazy cuz the lowers performance is like doubled it you have the upper...
this is the suspention setup on my teg:
itr front upper strut bar
itr rear upper strut bar
neuspeed front lower tie bar
neuspeed rear lower tie bar
itr rear sway bar
neuspeed full coilover system
all poyluratain brushings from energysuspention

is it necessary to get the front and rear sway bar and engine struts? &nbsp;Basically all 4 bars I'm talking here. &nbsp;

sway bar's are not the same thing as strut/tie bars... and no you dont need all four strut bars...just the more the better <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Keep in mind that a strut bar (upper or lower, front or rear) is designed to stiffen the chassis by connecting points that are not connected. &nbsp;The purpose is a more rigid chassis, which translates into more stable handling and moving the forces to the parts designed to take them.

Because of this, more is better - but there is a point where the returns are minimal. &nbsp;In our cars, there is already a cross member under the front of the car. &nbsp;The rear, with that crazy suspension, is still beyond me. &nbsp;The strut towers (tops) are weak points. &nbsp;They could all use stiffening, but the front will make the most difference - one you will feel at turn-in.

As for more - sure - some add front, rear, top, bottom, and Do-Luck makes a cross-bar that runs across the middle. &nbsp;The point is to see how much you need vs. their returns.

do the strut bars for sure. if u decide to do sway bars but only can afford one, get the REAR sway bar first.

you'll notice the first time you put it in but after driving it a while then you just feel it as normal...on my civic when i bought my strut bar it felt great cause i had the rear and front and after a while it was just there...got too use to it...

i have the front STB that i've had for a while, and it made the car fell more stable in medium to hard turns. then i installed the rear STB last night, oh my lord. like someone said before, buy the rear strut tower bar first, you'll notice more of a difference, ESPECIALLY if you have a hatchback. &nbsp;i have lowering springs and adjustable struts/shocks as well.

gettin just the FSTB will help in letting the back out in turns too <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> experience will tell me im right <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

If you get Strut Bars then get BOTH at the same time, and if anything, if you can only get ONE then get the front, rear wheel drive or not, your steering is in the front, which is the cause of the body roll in the first place, i have to get both for my 240, i got Strut Bars in front and back on my camaro z28 and sway bars in front and back as well, thing thing feels like a flat slab of rock, no motion at all, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha yea

ohhh yea and the bars all round will prevent you from flipping over easily also... you wont be able to highside yourself unless you hit a deep crack, while in the slide...
