So a while ago I picked up this 4.63 ring & pinion from a Pathfinder 4x4 front diff.

I was looking at a pic of an S13 diff with the rear cover off and I notice the teeth on the ring I have curve in the opposite direction.

Will it still work or did I waste my money?

The front sits on the opposite side in the front than it does in the rear IIRC.

So I don't see that being of much use.

But I could be wrong.

I don't know what your asking exactly

but I'm in the process of completing my differential setup, waiting on an output shaft and correct sized bolts.

I hope you don't mind me asking but how much did you pay? pm me, if you prefer

The teeth on the ring I have curve counter-clockwise when they should curve clockwise like yours.
I guess it would be like driving in reverse only foward lol

I don't mind.
I paid $100 for the whole front diff( 1/2 off day at the junkyard).

Not to thread jack but since its been mentioned in this thread I'll ask, I have the S15 HLSD and axles what would I need for the 4.63 gearing swap ?

You can PM an answer to keep the thread on topic.

After some more research I apparently got the wrong year.
Seem it's the 2000-up R&P that works.
I have a 96 R&P.
Fuck it i'll put it in an open diff and see what happens.
Like Drago said in Rocky 4: "If he dies, he dies"

i know its old, but for any one that knew Brian Peter in formula drift we put a 4.37 gears from the front carrier of a 1991 pathfinder V6 MT into his R200 and he ran formula drift, pro-am and clubfr with in, no problems
