alternator question????

i got a s13 sr20det black top and i need to get my alternator rebuilt...im thinking about takeing it to this rebuilt sho by my house but im not sure what to tell them what its off of cause its a sr...should i tell them its off a 240...or i was thinking a sentra ser...they do come with n/a sr20's....has anyone been in this situation?

honestly...i just just took mine to a reputable rebuilder. Didn't mention it was jdm and it came back good as new!

I took my KA alternator to a rebuilder and it was expensive as hell. It was cheaper to buy a new one.

But, if you really want it rebuilt, I would imagine all Nissan alternators would use similar, if not the same, brushes.

You got raped. My guy charges $65 per unit. I've seen people charge up to $110 but nowhere above that.

its actually not that hard to rebuild them yourself :)

guess ill just take it to the rebuilt shop and try it out
