Mild turbo build on stock high mileage KADE

Just wondering if it was possible to build a mild turbo setup on a completely stock KA24DE with around 160k miles on it. The previous owner never pushed the car and it has been well maintained for the most part. I'm just looking to get around 200whp. Would this be a smart decision or should I look into rebuilding the motor instead?

Ebay turbo manifold = $100
used t25 turbo = 0-$150
used SR side mount/IC piping = 0-$50
oil lines/fittings = $50
Ebay FMU = $75
Ebay SR downpipe = $75
misc. silicone couplers & clamps = $30

TOTAL = $530

...making more power than a stock SR20DET for far less money...

I mean depends on boost.... I wouldn't know what else you can put on, but T25 is a really good option.

It might not last long.


Or atleast do a compression and leakdown test to verify the condition.


Either way, that's a LOT of miles to turbo an engine with.

Not to promote other websites but, Ka-t.org has a lot of builds and information of what should and shouldnt do when turboing a ka.

AS already stated do a compreshion and leak down test. If they look good then turbo it. I would recommend a bigger turbo than a t25 though. Find a T3 flaged turbo and you will be able to get 200hp with less boost. Plus it will be more driveable.

Also go spend a few weeks reading on ka-t.org, your new best friend.
