Just got new rims...they are 18x11 +12 rear and 18x9 +35 in the front. What size tires should I put on the back? I was thinking 275/35. Wathca all think? thanks

those tires are taller then stock and the rims are too wide. with a 275 tire, keep the rim down to 9 or 10 or so. 285/30-18 looks like a much better size. No reason to stagger either, unless you are making more then 300hp or something, brakes need tires too.

What kind of driving are you planning on doing with those? (I can only imagine dragging with those fatties)... If you're into road race, I'm thinking 275/35 or 265/35... if you're doing drift, I'd say 235/40 (35? ... EXPENSSSSIVE) and if you're dragging, forget the 18s and go for some 15s with slicks. (maybe 305/30? do they even make /30/ ratios??...)
Just taking some uneducated stabs at widths... 11" is a lot to work with! You have flaree/over-/pulled-/wide- fenders, I trust?

I'm gonna go ahead and say those things won't fit in a million years, at least without massive flares. You'll need at least a 1" spacer in front just to clear the front stuts or coilovers, then you'll have to take a sawzall and just start cutting whatever crap they start rubbing. Or maybe you're just way smarter than I am...

those are so oversized it makes me think you must be making up for something.

You might want to test fit those bad boys to see if they even bolt up. My guess is there will be clearance issues and you better figure out how to deal with that before your drop $$$ on some huge tires.

I think it's also going to look sort of funny since the face of the rear wheels are going to mount just over 2" further from the hubs than the fronts, if my math was done correctly (if the track front and rear were equal to begin with, the rear track would be almost 4.25" greater). So the front will be about flush and the rears will be proud of the fenders by quite a bit.

Is that your car in your avatar? The only wheel and tire sizes i can give you advise on are S13's. I am running 18x7.5 up front and 18x9 in rear. Racing Hart C2 3 piece wheels. 225/40/18 in front and 255/35/18 in rear. Off set in the back is +38 and the tire rubs the fender on hard turns. I need to roll the fenders. With the same offset and a rim that is 2" wider you WILL need some huge ass fender flares and have to cut some of your fender well. The front, well those might fit, but i still think it will hit the strut.

Reasoning for the rear:
Mine are +38 on a 9" wide rim +38 offset. Your offset is 26mm off mine, which is a hair more than an inch. That means you bring the wheel OUT an inch. Then, the killer is that they are also 2" wider. OUCH!! Its gonna be some big money if you dont want those suckers to stick out past the wheel well like some 100 spoke gold daytons.

The rims came off an s14. It didn't have fender flares or anything like that. He said it was custom fitted for his car. The rims still has tires on them from the previous owner. It has 275/35/18 rear and 255/35/18 front. I was think to replacing them with smaller tires or buying the same size tires. The rims are for mainly for car show thats it. He said it never rubs or anyhting like that on his car. I took some pics of it:

Gaed, those wheels are sweet. But huge!
Were the fenders rolled?

FYI... 275mm = 10.8" so you are already pushing the small side of the rear rim. I would probably go 285 or 295 for that rim. I agree with everyone that that is going to be interesting to get those bad boys in there. It will be quite tizzy if you do... but it's going to be some time and money getting the flares on "right" so that nothing rubs and it looks clean etc. I'd say that it's either flares or sell them... but that's just me. Nice offset by the way... I like something I can stand on! I hope it works for ya bud... cause it will be tight if you do!

holy wow, those are some NICE wheels.
Why do you want to get rid of the GREAT rubber that's already on there!?
If this is for a show and you don't actually have enough power to really push these things (275/18s) then I'd say stretch a 245 on the rear (it'd look super Drift style! w00t w00t) and put maybe 225s or 235s on the front.
I'm anxious to see your car with these things on it!

The rubber on the back is really worn out already.

Going that small would really push the tire on the small side. Here is a spec sheet for a michelin pilot sport 245/40/18 vs. the original 275/35/18:

245/40ZR18 Z SL 220 AA A
1433lbs.
51psi
10/32nds
8-9.5" <---- wheel width rec.
8.5"
9.7"
NA
25.8"
805

275/35ZR18 95Y SL 220 AA A
1521lbs.
51psi
10/32nds
9-11" <---- wheel width rec.
9.5"
10.7"
NA
25.7"
807

It's up to you man... again, good luck!
