View Full Version : removing heater hose from elbow by thermostat housing

Please, muther fucking please, tell me there is a way to replace that hose that comes off the elbow (right behind the thermostat housing) WITHOUT removing the intake manifold.

That ish is a PITA
i have done it. It just takes along time. I jacked up the car so i could get at it from the top and bottom

From the bottom? WTF? that ish goes inside the curve of the plenum..

Evan you've been having the worst luck lately man. I've been under the hood of a KA for a total of about 10mins, so I can't help.

oh well. I got to put on my 12lb flywheel. haha

And puling the mani ON the car.. SUCKS my ass

The correct answer to my original question should have been:

Yes, Evan, you can remove that hose without taking off the intake manifold, and quite easily too.

You have to remove the throttle body and disconnect the electrical connections and upper radiator hose, and then you can reach right in and pull it off.

It should. I didn't start it because I had to get up at 4:30 am to get to work on time.

coolant still needs to be bled and the battery needs a charge but after that its all fingers crossed that this new block is decent.
