Ok heres the deal

car was running good, we dropped in an SR and ran good no problems.
It just sat for a couple months and with a full battery, if it sits for 4-5 days it dies.
friend ran some tests, turned out to have a short in the alt and could only get 12.8 volts max. Replaced it with a 90amp KA alt and was charging like normal again.

I noticed that there was no ground wire from the back of the alt, but figured i didn't have a problem for almost a year before this and didn't ground the new one after replacing either...

Would not grounding the alt lead to discharging the battery over a few days?
Also, since it didn't have a ground on there, I need to know what size wire is on the 90amp KA alt?

Stock size wire is 10ga, anything bigger than that is perfect. I used a piece of leftover 4ga for mine.

That should be fine. The lead is less than 8" long. Just ground it well to the chassis.
