so it's October, and that means i'm watching the full Friday the 13th series and full Nightmare on Elm Street series. but cheesy 80's horror movies are something you can stock up on and enjoy year round. i love a crappy slasher. i wish they still made them, instead of just torture porn.
name some favorites, Zilvia. we can even go late 70's and early 90's.

Sleepaway Camp
Evil Dead trilogy
F13 series (duh)
Nightmare on Elm Street series (duh)
Dead Alive (Braindead)
The Lost Boys
Maximum Overdrive
Critters
Silent Night Deadly Night (christmas horror, i host a marathon of horror/christmas horror every december, the saturday following Christmas)
Child's play

What else is there to mention? You got all the good ones.

Maximum Overdrive is one of my all time favs.

Of course I have to say the Dead series, Night, Dawn, and Day. Even though Day is the only one from the 80's and I think it's weakest one.

The wife and I used to go rent all kinds of scary movies this time of the year too.

I agree also, can't stand the torture porn crap. Exactly why I'm looking forward to the remake of Friday the 13th. I really liked the Halloween remake.

The Last House on the Left
Wes Craven, 1972

The first film he directed. A bit disturbing, and rather controversial for the time. Worth a watch for sure.

Yea, this movie was messed up Barry. I remember watching and saying, "damn they actually allowed a movie like this back then."

Very disturbing.

A pair of teenage girls are headed to a rock concert for one's birthday. While trying to score marijuana in the city, the girls are kidnapped by a gang of psychotic convicts.

You tube some of the scenes.

The Last House on the Left - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Last_House_on_the_Left)

In Britain:
"The film remained banned throughout the remainder of the 1980s and into the 1990s." :rawk:

Ghoulies and Puppet Master cracked me up. But Alive, with those crazy babies that kill, creeped me out when I was a kid.

Even though it came out in 1979, Lucio Fulcis Zombie/Zombi 2/Zombie Flesheaters. It was banned for quite awhile too, because of a certain eyeball scene.

Also, Return of the living Dead ftw!

I LOVE 80s Horror Films
Cheesey Slasher Films? YES PLEASE
Busted you named all my favorites!
Here are some more good ones:

-The Prowler
-My Bloody Valentine
-The Maniac
-Halloween (1-6, no sucky Rob Zombie Remakes)
-Prom Night

Man the list goes on. I will add more late. I LOVE October!!!

Also I agree, I cannot stand the terrible junk that has been coming out of Hollywood as late. Saw.....who would pay money to watch that, it's so horrible and there is like 5 of them now?!? Stop it damn it!
