germany.............

i was told it's a middle eastern country. but the germany thing would be kinda funny. i read an article that they do in fact teach about the holocaust and the dictator of said period there, since it's part of their history. but they give a test for kids to advance grades from 9th to 10th (iirc) and after they pass that in 10th grade they give a class about it. taking it as part of world history.

it's actually ILLEGAL (or IRREGAR) to show your junk on tape there. i swear to god, their porn and horror movies wouldn't be nearly as fucked up if this wasn't the case. if Japan could see wang, there'd be no Audition, no Night Shift Nurses, no Suicide Club.
so thank god they can't see dorks, i love that shit. nothing clears out a house party faster than night shift nurses

1. Coffee house in Amsterdam.

2. Germany does in fact teach about the holocaust, but other countries around the world, the Middle East, Africa, or East Asia for example, have a different relationship with that time in history. For instance, pictures of Adolf Hitler and the swastika are (were?) used to advertise German products in countries like Taiwan.

3. The age of consent varies around the world and creates some interesting/weird legal questions.

I've noticed a couple of weird things since I've been back in Germany.

-You go to the supermarket and nobody packs your groceries for you. Worse, you have to provide your own bags, or buy ones from the supermarket.

-Each pack of cigarettes contains only 17 smokes. Unless you buy from the cigarette vending machines in which case you can - randomly - receive a pack with 18. Or you can buy a big back, which contains 24? I'm guessing it has to do with taxation.

-Beer is cheaper than coca cola at most establishments.

-The autobahn does in fact have speed limits. They even have cameras in certain stretches. Nothing like seeing that pretty orange light fuck up your night vision when you're going 90mph!

Eh...nothing that weird really. But I'm tired and have probably just gotten used to all the craziness.

Ah that's starting to happen here in the U.S. LOL bringing your own bag is supposed to be the ecologically correct thing to do. Packing your own groceries. Ya, because most grocery stores in California are trying to save money and hire less workers so there usually aren't many if any bagger's. LOL

Your an idiot haha

I've gone to school in germany, they have a specific class that teaches everybody what happened in the holocaust and that it must never happen again.

Yeah, the autobahn has speed limits at major intersections/on/off ramps.

There are still unrestricted stretches, though.

In most latin american countries, especially smaller corner stores and shops, you're expected to drink something such as a soda etc. at the store and return the bottle to the store, or pay for it if you plan on leaving.

Once, I had to leave, but the lady wouldn't sell the bottle... She poured my drink into a plastic bag and tied a straw in the top.

i'm sure saving money and hiring less workers is one of the reasons that grocery stores will stop using plastic bags, but i doubt it's the main reason.

i saw in the news like a month ago that california enviormentalists claim that plastic bags are very unfriendly to the envirment. they claim that some crazy number of bags are created a year, billions upon billions, and they end up going to the landfills when and another large number, hundreds of thousands, end up as litter on streets. they are also hard to recycle and only can be reused a few times and there are better alternatives like using real bags that are reusable.

also less plastic used = more gas for me
also if they don't need baggers, then they don't have to deal with the bagger union

I will wait in a 20 minute line before I use a self check out. Why? Because. If they have to pay someone to take my money, I am ensuring that checkers job. If I am paying the company to check myself out and bag my shit then fuck that store.

I am the opposite, I love self checkouts. After working as a cashier for 15 months of my life, I feel I can be quicker than the store's cashiers.

In Iraq (probably other places) they wipe their ass with their hands. No paper, no towel, no nothing. Then they give their hands a nice little rinse with water and call it a day.

i'd agree, and i DO use an actual person whenever there isn't a big line, or if i have a lot of shit... but if i'm buying one or two things and there's a line, meh. convenience, even though i do more work.

You might want to complete that sentence with more details.

My parents are drinking right now. Should I go check that they aren't getting arrested?

In some european countries (used to know which ones... not no mores), the legal drinking age is lower than the age you can get your license.

what? what the hell stores are you going to? every where i went and have heard of, uses plastic bottles mainly. the glass ones get thrown away. but boy do i love the soda from the glass bottles. i need to go to mexico again.

Wow. I was arguing the opposite today. I think all stores should have them. See, the reasoning is this. Most places have like 20 lanes, and only 5 of them are staffed. WTF. With self checkout they still have those same 5 lanes staffed, plus the self checkout. Its been that way in all the stores I've seen that use them anyways. I hate waiting in line! Whatever corporate exec at Walmart that came up with the 20 ITEM or less lines is a moron, it defeats the whole purpose of an express lane!!!!! Its a good thing I've rarely had to go in there...
