I have a 91 s13 hatch, recently I had a s14 KA swapped in due to a blown headgasket, I am not sure about the origin of the S14 KA, but its clean and its a obd1 motor(95)

ever since that, my CEL came on, i checked it its a code 35
i searched online and found its the EGT circuit, and supposedly only California spec 240s have this sensor

i need to pass smog...so what can i do to fix this CEL, how can i find out whether that the S14 KA that was swapped in have a EGT sensor or not?

Thanks

The EGT sensor sits on top of the plenum, right in the middle, threaded into a hole. It looks like the head of a bolt with with a small needle like piece sticking out of it, then a wire leading coming out of that. You should be able to see it by looking down through the intake manifold. Cars without it just have a bolt there. The plug is found on the subharness for the IACV and IAA.
