smoking rear

i was driving my car and smelled a funky burning smell coming from the rear of my 92 s13. no grinding or noise just the burning. has anyone ever had this problem b4,whats the cause.
my rear wheels were hot but this happened in the dark so i couldn't inspect to well,and the smell was too funky :confused:

could be a plastic bag or something got caught on your exhaust and burned up... it's happened to me before. Melted plastic is not easy to clean off :-/
