Hey Guys,

This is a new problem.

Basically I finally fixed everything and the engine is purringg smoooth as hell.

During this time the engine ran smooth except for the bogging/stalling everytime the bov blew off.

So I decided to get the recirculation fitting for my blitz bov and recirculate that bitch back into the intake (the port after MAF)

Everything is fine and its now revving much smoother and FASTER without and hitch or bogging issue.

But now after recirculating the BOV, the car blows ALOT of smoke during idle and smells of fuel.

FPR is at 3bars with vacuum and lower without.

Checked all orings on injectors and they are good. I even pulled out the fuel rail and primed the pump to do a leak test. Primes at 40 psi and holds at 20psi once pump stops priming. However it slowly drops by 2psi once everything is in standstill.

From what I've read, I'm suppose to be adjusting the FPR without the vaccumm on. I forgot how I did this but I think it went something like this:

Without vacuum 34-35psi with vacuum 40 psi?

Can't really think of anything else. Didn't run this rich and blow like a whore until I recirculated the BOV.

If it makes any difference I ghetto rigged another piece of hose to use as a adapter coupler so the opening from recirculating hose to intake hose is about 3/4 of an inch.

sure you corrected to timing properly? Seems like your cam timing is off or is not corresponding like it should with the ignition timing

Timing was done following this process:

Remove valve cover
Crank Cam Pulley
Watch Timing chain until Dark chains align with Marks on both the Cam Gears
Look for Marks on Cam pulley and Allign with 2nd mark from the left

Did it 3 times :\

Can't possibly go wrong unless the process was wrong.

did u reset the CAS?

kilo64

resetting by pushing it in and lining up second circle mark with mark on CAS?

Yepp did that

well your tps needs to be at .45v if any higher it either bad or you car thinks your doing 180mph and dumping more fuel than it needs to so check that again and also check your ecu for codes you never know it might be something so simple

Gonna check on that.
This may be a extremely stupid question;
But I can't seem to find the exact location of the Idle Adjust Screw
The only thing that I remotely guess it would be is the plastic screw that rests under the intake manifold as seen in the redarrow

Is that the screw I should be turning to adjust the idle? Its just a black plastic phillips

yup thats the one. try to see if you can get it to idle.

you have to dissconnect the tps first, then adjust your idle screw, then plug your tps back in and it should be perfect

Fixed everything. Thanks alot guys!

Turns out that the 3 cyl thing was because the fork on the left valve spring was off.

Everything runs smooth now except for a problem.

Its running rich. (Described in 1st post EDITED)

maybe you have a vacuum leak despite the smooth idle.

When is it running rich? When your stomping on it or just cruising? If its just cruising, try getting a new o2 sensor.

Soguracing,
Checked alll vac lines over and over again already. This shouldn't even be an issue.

Fliprayzin240sx,
Haven't cruised the car yet. But at idle it blows smoke out like tomorrow when I rev it to 4 - 6k and once it comes back down to idle it just keeps blowing rich and pretty much covers the entire scene.

Didn't find out until I recirculated the bov and couldn't hear my KSSSSSSSSSHHHHH anymore so I tried to see if it would come back in the higher rpm range.

If it makes any difference, I loosened the BOV spring screw most of the way. I would say its 25% in.

Since the BOV is the only thing I changed before it started running this rich, could it be the size of the coupler? Since it seems that the air might be restricted from the adapter I put in place.

Check TPS voltage with the engine off. Should be .5V at idle and 5V at WOT.

Check for vacuum leak, especially around the area where you worked earlier.

Boost leak?

maybe check your spark plugs, check timing, 15 degrees btdc, 2nd notch from the right.

Timing has been at 15btdc.
Spark plugs are good

TPS is good.

Would recirculating the BOV retime the engine? When I retimed it before; It was with the BOV venting into the air

So I swapped in some NGK V powers heatrange 5 and now it doesn't smoke as much.

I did however notice a new symptom;
When the car is idling it would go up and down fluctuating between 50rpm or so. Everytime the rpms go up and down a cloud of smoke would blow out. I already tried setting idle but it seems that every time I rev it a bit it drops even lower but doesn't die out.

There would be times when the car would idle fine and all of a sudden start fluctuating again.

I also noticed that with the BOV recirculated and with the spring loosened all the way; my turbo sputters when I let go of the throttle after 5k! I even tried tightening the spring all the way and the sputter became more apparent. With it loosened all teh way the sputter is faint.

So basically new symptoms now;

Car belches smoke everytime the idle jumps up and down

Turbo sputters even with bov recirculated
