alright well i am having a very hard time finding where certain stuff are ground, i just tried to hook up my battery and it started sparking like crazy

i have a picture of where some of the stuff are ground.. most likely wrong..

the FSM is rather hard to understand

How'd you even get into this predicament in the first place???

I'm thinking that is the positive for the starter - maybe if you zoomed out a bit or showed what other wires were near there (kind of hard to tell from the shot for me - haven't looked @ a sohc in a long time).

Alternator should have 1 ground, I have a feeling the other one is possibly a positive wire - yikes. The ground for alternator is a tiny wire. The thicker gauge one goes on the power terminal of the alternator.

As for the oil pan picture, I'm not positive, but last time I was under there, brackets held the hard lines for the automatic tranny -> tranny cooler in the radiator (at least I think mine did).
