View Full Version : Which oil filter to use besides OEM?

If you had to walk into pep boys or some auto parts store....which oil filter would you buy for the KA?

if you need one quick and cheap.. these are the ones I would buy:

AC Delco, Purolator, and Wix (wix makes Napa Gold, and probably Nissan OEM filters, as well as many other OEM filters)

If you don't care about cost or time frame.. AmsOil, or Mobil1 filters would be my choise. I personally always use AmsOil filters.


DO NOT BUY FRAM. they are junk. They used to be good a long time ago, but are trash these days.

purelator gets my vote for now, it's pretty blue, I think that helps. I change it pretty often, like 2000 miles

If you go with Purolator, the Premium (white) is fine, but if you drive your car hard, try the PureOne (metallic blue). Mobil1 is perhaps the best, but the price isn't.

I did Fram. They're not bad at all. Go get an OEM one, it's only $3 more.
