No because the stock motor still would'nt be strong enough to break it IMHO.

I agree.  You'd sit there and roast your clutch unless you're running a lot more hp than stock.  Funny enough, that old Mazda pickup I had as my second truck, was abused heavily.  What lunches gears the most is doing 90 degree turns (like right turns at stoplights) and giving a huge wad of throttle in 1st.  How do I know?  I was driving around and there's this huge lurch and "whack" noise like god himself reached down and gave my car a quick jerk.  Drive it back home and pull the diff.  Little pieces of spider gear come out.

Then again, the 87 Mazda rear ends were kinda weak, so I don't think it was all my driving. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> &nbsp;(Jumping, tearing around town, rallying through ponds with 5 people in it.) &nbsp;

I doubt it, the clutch would go before the tranny. This is all subjective though.

so what do guys do when they are running 300+ hp? and they want to run good quarter miles... ?

if they running that much hp, then they wont have the problem u do...
and they'll also drop at a lower rpm...

so pretty much they just rev up to a certain rpm, depress the clutch, have the tires squeak a LITTLE bit, and then floor it from there...
