So I finished my sr swap last night. I Tried starting it and it sounded like it was missing bad. switched out the coilpacks and it fired right up. Let it run a while then turned it off and checked everything. Started it back up. Went for a short drive. Came back, Shut her off and now she wont start.
Now I have checked fuel, I know the coilpacks are good and the maf is good. About to listen to see of the injectors are clicking. I am lost. Cant figure this bitch out. Please help/ Feel free to call as I am under the hood of my car because I feel like Im better off there rather than in front of the computer

when it ran did it run smoothly? did you have power all the way through the rev range?

change the fuel filter. :) it's probably the culprit

or possibly a fuel line leak.

fuel filter is a month and a half old z32tt unit. Still? I checked the fuel lines. unless its leaking from by the tank. Even then would it keep it from starting?

Have you pulled the fule feed line off and cycled the key to see if its pumping fuel ??

Have you confirmed spark yet ?

SoguRacing

the car would still start is there was a leak but then again you would probaly know you have a leak. hmm..so you do have spark to all 4 cylinders? did a gremlin get in your engine and mess up your timing? i'll be back on this

try unplugging the ecu and take a 10 min pepsi break or beer break which ever you prefer. if that doesn't work, maybe your throttle position screw fell out. i remember that i when i was setting mine, i didn't tighten the nut and the little screw fell out causing it to "not start". luckily it fell right on the aluminum pan under my car and iput it back in and it started right back up. they butterfly/throttle plate was closed too much.

IHasLongTorso

working on it. Could a weak ground on the coilpack harness be the cause maybe?

try starting the car with the gas pedal pushed in a bit.

tried starting it with the gas pedal down a little. nothing. Fixed the ground. still nothing. Igniter chip was cracked. replaced. still nothing. Shoot me some more ideas.
Thanks

did you try resetting the ecu?

swapped ecus with my buddies e5 which is the same as mine. Still nothing. This was after I fixed the ground and switched the igniter chip. It started and I let it run a bit. Turned it off and now nothing some more.

then it sounds like something electrical. do you have some sort of short somewhere? are you able to pull codes? try that and see what you get?

IHasLongTorso

Im pulling codes 13, 21, and 11. Thinking it might be the temp sensors. Cause its when its hot. It is starting more frequently now though.

check them out. ohm test them and compare your results with the FSM.

have you tried "re-stabbing" the CAS to set the base ignition timing?

i remember my engine was struggling when i was first getting her swapped it struggled like crazy. it also took forever to startup. set timing and has been perfect ever since.

it's also one more thing you can cross of your list.

well after replacing the temp sensors from my trusty old 324000mile sohc ka with the sr it has started up every time.im leaking boost hella bad and have an exhaust leak at my shitty ass xs power mani. But it runs. Im switching out the mani for the stock one for now and bending my down pipe down and my exhaust in twards the center of the car and I should be good to go. Im also going to set the timing if I can figure that out.
Thanks
Especialy to wooly and brainfood.
