hey guys, I am wanting to get a s15 turbo for my sr, but i was thinking in the meantime maybe trying out one of the T25/T28 TD04-H turbos that are on ebay. question is, would it be similar flow to the S15 turbo; so that i can use the same tune? i havent seen any compressor maps for the t25/t28. here's the specs they give;
Oil cooled and water cooled
5 bolt exhaust outlet

Ebay Turbo's = Crap
DO NOT buy any turbos off of Ebay.
You will just be wasting money you could put towards a real turbo.

Yeah. Don't buy Ebay, ever. Also, I'm pretty sure that "TD04" and "T25/28" are mutually exclusive, since one is a Mitsubishi turbo and the other is a Garrett.

i wasnt asking whether i should get one or not, i was asking if anyone knew if it would be similar flow to the s15 turbo. Markp of mx5miata.net has alot of good things to say about the chinachargers and out of 10 units he has used he has yet to see one fail.

Nani: i have a friend that is running a ebay t3/t4 on his ka-t and its been going strong at 14psi for almost two years now, thats what made me interested in this turbo.

((sr)) kelly: i havent heard of this combo, please fill me in on this more. 14b came in the 1st gen and 2nd gen eclipse correct? and you just put the t25 turbine housing on it? this works for sure? how does it compare to the stock t25?

yeh ive seen it done before..

its a hell of alot better then the s14 T28... you can run 20 psi on it fine.. its almost as good as a S15 imo... and you can get them cheap

you just swap the back housings out so you can use the sr20 outlet...of you could just get an exhaust flange off a dsm and use it on an outlet

interesting... so i was looking and saw gt2876r chinachargers on ebay... if those are any similar to the gt2871r, i might just go with one of those especially since they are about the same price as the gt28r chinacharger.. just search gt2876r on ebay and youll see what i am talking about, has the same specs as the garrett gt2876r minus the ball bearings.

dude i can tell you from tearing one down that a 14B is a shit turbo. they arn't even worth rebuilding, one look at the compressor wheel will tell you that. most modern turbos even our stock T25 have stepped compressor wheels for better flow and less turbulence, the 14b just has one row and they're closely packed together. i mean i guess you could call them alright but all dsm guys go for the 16G for a reason.
