wheel and tires

i'm looking at some sportmax wheels. i want 17x7 and 17x9 wheels. either 962's or 006's, just can't decide. my question is about what tires to run. i found that 215-45-17, and 255-40-17 would look good, and not throw off the speedo that much. does anyone know if this setup will fit good or not? i've been researching this for some time now, and i really need wheels on my car.
also it's not lowered yet, but i may get sportlines, and 50mm fenders for the back. thanks a ton.

for tire size, google tire size calculator
as for "fitting" u have to provide the wheel's offset...but look at the wheel fitment thread, and couple other ones to get a good idea how it will fit ;)

thanks, i've tried several forums multiple times. i just haven't found anything for certain.slao the offsets are between 35 and 40.
