i have a redtop, stock turbo, stock manifold, 3" all the way back. i have a oil catch can routed from the valve cover to the turbo intake. at idle the turbo will smoke "sometimes" when in boost there is no smoke i am told and pulls fine. im guessing the oil seals have gone bad with the turbo.

also if i where to upgrade my manifold, do the oem oil lines crack/break when taken off? will i be able to get away with getting another t25 and oem lines?

thanks for the help

take it from us. ditch the OEM turbo lines. the hardlines fatigue after bending, and are a fucking pain in the ass.

get either circuit sports, taka, earls, whatever. they are stainless braided lines. they are much easier to use than the stock hardlines.

since you have an S13 SR, you SHOULD upgrade to the S14 waterneck and purchase the S14 stainless braided turbo lines so you can cap off the water line behind the head (which is notorious for being a big pain in the ass when installing/pulling the turbo since it's extremely hard to reach. the S14 waterneck is is tapped for a water source/return from the factory. nissan realized its mistake and made it better.

this is my turbo before i installed it with the circuit sports lines from frsport.com

this is the kit from frsport

and just look up an S14 waterneck.

DO IT RIGHT

as for your smoking problem, yeah your turbo seems to be in need of a rebuild. mine spooled fine when in boost too, but i had a shit load of shaft play. ttake off hte turbo inlet and move the compressor with your fingers, does it move? if so, read up on my thread on how to rebuild that bad boy:
