Hey guys,

So I decided to switch back to a AT tranny/charging harness after running into some wiring problems w/ my MT tranny/charge harness after my Auto to Manual swap.

My car is a 1989 KA24E SOHC, and I recently picked up a AT tranny/charging out of a 1993 KA24DE. I was connecting everything lastnight and ran into a plug that wasn't compatiable with the connector on the car. I looked at the wires on the connector and plug side. The chassis connector side has 7 wires and charge harness plug only has 4.

This is the connector that is located on the side of the fuse box. There is about three wires that match up, can I just snip off the spare connector I have and wire it in accordingly? Or should I try to find a chargine harness off of a SOHC?

I ran into similar situations in SOCH cars. There are a couple of mystery plugs near the fusebox area.

I suggest you go straight to the FSM foldout and start tracing down the harness. The ones I had were for auto, but had nowhere to plug into the body harness.

Give that a shot and check back if you're stuck. I'll see what I can do for you.

Well when I matched up the SOHC plug to the connector I was able to trace every wire "except" the "BROWN" wire. I am almost positive that it has to go to a single wire connector.

The DOHC plug only has 4 wires, so 3 would be missing. Two of the wires that it is missing would go to the sensor that is on the bottom of the engine, next to the oil pan. The 3rd missing wire would be the brown wire.
