Hey guys, I own the 240 w/ the XS turbo kit. yesterday I was driving and when I stopped the car stalled and died right there on the spot. I took it to my mechanic and he says that he's not sure yet but he's pretty sure the engine is fried. He thinks that the guy who installed the turbo kit didn't put the temp gauge back in right and I didn't know it had been overheating. I've been in a few cars that overheated and they were smoking ridiculously. My car let out a little smoke but barely. Besides the fact that I'm skeptic about the situation, I wanted to know how much it SHOULD cost to rebuild an engine with stronger internals. I need to call him soon because I have to OK him to open up my engine. Thanks for the help

u can easily spend $1500-2500 simply rebuilding an engine to stock spec. upgraded rods and pistons can cost $1200-up (labor to install shouldnt be much more than using stock parts cuz it'll all be apart anyway). does ur mechanic have turbo experience?? if not, find someone who does. dont forget to upgrade ur clutch while its apart. hope that helps.

I do have more pics but I don't know how to post them on the site. there used to be some on speedoptions but I will need to look for them. The rims are Advan Model 5's (see also the purple 240 in The Fast and the Furious)
but mine are 19's hee hee... If I can't build this motor I may have to sell them to you... &nbsp; &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>
