Hey guys.
i searched for a solid 30 min but could not find an answer. i have recently received new struts and springs, and want to install them. i know that i need new everything. i have been looking at the exploded diagrams, and know i need 2 strut mount isolators for the front, along with what i think are dust boots, but the rears kinda confuse me. i know i need new mounts, but i cant tell what comes with what. could i PLEASE get a list of stuff i need to order to go along with my new strus and springs??
thank you so much guys
Matt

my buddy built his "coilovers"
and he bought QA1 springs, with ebay coilovers(used those alluminum cuplers to hold the QA1 springs) cut a bike inner tube piping to go around the shock, and then bought kyb agx shocks.. and tein camber plates, and pillow mounts

he likes it (for his miata)

hope that helps a little

compress the springs onto the strut then swap then in. then get an alignment. =)

Reuse all your old hardware.

We give you answers and you complain about them. So what that they have 200k miles on them, if you wanted a quality set up you would have gotten coilovers. Just do it, be happy.

top hats arent worn out unless they are cracked.. i've never seen a cracked one. install and be happy.

you need a new set of strut mounts (top hats) and strut bearings. some companies sell them as a set some sell seperate but make sure you get both also you might need the spring coushin goes betweenthe spot where the spring contacts the strut purch. andisthey're drop springs you'll need camber bolts. good luck. btw don't forget to align it

Do NOT buy camber bolts unless you like resetting your alignment daily or shearing bolt heads off while driving.

thanks for the help guys. and i have a very good reason for not getting coilovers, i plan on road racing this car, but cannot afford to dump a ton of money into the engine. getting coilovers places me into the advanced class at my local track, therefore i have have to compete against 300hp cars. granted, i would also be allowed to have 300 hp, but the wallet wont allow that. replacement struts and springs leave me in the stock class.

so thaks to the people that helped, i ordered the stuff i needed today.

Upper mounts, boots, spring compressor, impact, zipties, maybe some cheap strip insulation (the foam kind). You can put the insulation between the upper mount and the chassis and it will help some with the NVH.
