ok i actually think i found out what was wrong with my car. i have a weak ground coming from the ecu to the mafs. i bought a new one just in case. would it be ok if i were to just ground the wire that is suppose to be the ground on the mafs somewhere else or does the computer need to see a ground?

U should ground the wire to the maf where its suppsoe to be. There should be three wires

there is three wires but is it ok for me to ground the one im suppoes to ground to a different ground. is it ok the ecu doesnt see it?

how can i find where it is original ground, or does it actually just go straught to the ecu? how can i fix that?

jim wolf has a good page explaining...cant link sorry on my phone

can you put that link up later, i cant find anything. thanks a lot. does anyone know how i can make the ground stronger or something coming from the ecu

is it ok to ground it where i want it or do i have to keep it on the ecu ground

can i just 3 way the regular ground to my own ground

I used to run my old KA with the MAF ground spliced and just hooked up to chassis ground. It ran better with that setup.
Make sure your ecu is also bolted in so that the casing for it is grounded.

hey thanks a lot for that. i will do that ^
but i think i have another problem. when i was checking for voltage on my ecu i wasnt getting any to the ecu powers. only the ecu backup power. and know for some reason my fuel pump doesnt turn on. i poped the eng cont fuse earlier but i replaced it with one that is close to the same. it was off of a junkyard 240 but it looked a little different. is that the problem

damn. i just read some old articles and i think i fried my ecu. how can i be sure i fucked my ecu up? i still have backup power going to it and the eng cont fuse is still different, so i got to go to nissan and hopefully buy the fuse.

holy shit. 25 dollars from nissan for the fuse. does anyone have any spare fuses they would like to sell? i hope this fixes it.

the fuses checked out good. does anyone know where the ecu gets its main power from?

y is my ecu power wire not gettin any power or y is my fuel pump not priming

are the led lights on? does the ecu smell like burning hair?

my little red light is not on but i dont remember it being on. i just need to know why im getting backup power and not main power. is there a fuse it goes thru other than the eng cont.

moses

does the ecu main power go thru any fuses. which should i check?

moses

i need to know why my ecu is not getting power

moses

i have power at both eng cont fuses under the hood but i dont have any at b/w wire in the grey plug. what does that mean

yeah my car started but runs crappy. what should i check to make sure everything is good. i think it runs crappy because someone tried to tune it with the mafs bad. is there a way i can reset the afc neo. its time to go drinkin. ill let u guys know whats up tomorrow. what should i check to be safe

You saying your ECU is not getting power but then you say that your car started? How could that be?

moses

i really dont know how it started. i guess now its getting power since i switched the egi and egi pump relays out.didnt see power when i initially swiched them but when i pluged in the ecu it ran. shitty though. it cant even idle anymore??

hey i just noticed something.i have a black/white wire connected to three other b/w wires just behind the big rubber grommet. is this normal and if it is where do they go to because i might of shorted out something else.

does anyone else have that setup and is it ok

its mafs, ecu power, and something in the iacv (i think). does anyone elses do this

moses

ok i just did a test. i unpluged my mafs and afc neo and the car ran perfect 14.8. i plugged in the mafs and i ran rich. when all are plugged in the car cant idle. what does this mean. could it be i blew my iacv when i popped the c/b?

it probably means that the afc and/or the mafs is wired improperly

moses

i just checked and there both are wired good. the reason i think it is the iacv is because there is a b/w wire that connects the maf b/w, iacv b/w and the ecu power all in one. so when i shorted the mafs, i could have shorted the iacv since there is no fuse for it. and when i unplug the mafs my cars goes into limp mode and the iacv doesnt send a signal anyways. does this make sense.

can someone let me know if this makes sense

hey thanks a lot Z U L8R. youve really helped me out a lot. and to who ever said the mafs can be grounded to a chasis ground is wrong. the ecu sends different signals through the ground for the mafs so ground at all times is bad and i probably messed up another mafs

im running rich now. when i unplug my coil pack one by one, nothing happens, when i unplug any 2 there is a little difference, 3 its dead. is it possible my ignitor is weak and not bad or all my coilpacks are weak. wtf
