Alright, so i was trying to put in my boss deck, and when i put it in, the power light and security light would go on, and my speakers would turn on, but the display wouldnt.

Couldnt figure out what it was, so i sent it back. Get the new one, same thing happens.

So, i get to work on my wiring.

Long story short -
Those connectors you buy at wal mart arent a direct match for your factory wiring.
I looked at the FSM and couldnt make heads/tails of it, especially with no colors.
I searched for like half an hour and couldnt find what i needed.
Turns out the all the wiring was right except for the ground (somehow i was still getting power grounded)
So... since i did all the work, i figure ill share it and help you guys out.

Your stock connectors look like this (if the prongs are facing you, wires heading out the back)

A.......B
C.D.E.F.

^^ 6 prong connector
and

G.H........I.J
K.L.M.N.O.P.

^^ 10 prong connector

So.
Letter...........Stock colors..................Function
A.................Blue............................ .Right Rear +
B.................Green/red......................Unused
C.................Pink............................ .Right Rear -
D.................Green........................... Left Rear +
E.................Purple.......................... .Left Rear -
F.................Gray............................ .Unused
G.................Blue (2 of em)................12v+
H.................Red/Blue.......................Dimmer
I.................White........................... .Right Front +
J.................Pink............................ ..Left Front +
K.................Gray............................ .Unused
L.................Red/Yellow.....................Unused
M.................Orange/Green................Constant 12v
N.................Green/White..................Power Antenna
O.................Black........................... Right Front -
P.................Blue............................ .Left Front -

Ground from the radio to your chassis

Anyway, sorry if its been done before, but i searched for a while and couldnt find it.
Hope it helps!
Zac

FSM does list wiring colors, at least mine does.

Your front speakers may not be working because of the factory speaker amps mounted in the door. Without power from the factory head for the amps, you will not get any sound from the speakers.

In my s13 i'd already removed the rear amp so the back worked.
But in the front i had to take out the speakers & enclosure, then open the back of it up. You'll notice 4 wires going in (2 for amp power, 2 for the speaker signal). Just cut and splice the speaker wires that go to the amp, into the actual speaker wires.
Once you open it up and look at it, it should make sense.

Same sit here.. the ground wire isnt connected with the adapters, (just found that out too) It was only working because the antenea was connected and therfore it was grounded by that. I just cut the ground wire from my radio and tapped into the chasis or the back of the dash support bracket

A for effort. C for contents.

The FSM clearly sets forth the wire colours.
