it seems like every time i really beat on my car, i pop the hood to find the dipstick has popped up a bit..

ive come to the conclusion that it may be caused by blow by since ive been told that sr's are notorious for large amounts of blow by, but i could very well be completely wrong... oh and im running 15lbs on a gt2871r .64a/r if that makes a difference... is this normal?

thanks for any advice guys

Make sure your PCV isn't clogged.

Rings... its an sr with a 2871r lol.

Blowby = rings.

Test with a leakdown tester, and or compression check.
As for pcv, not sure where its at on a sr.. but it should be check and serviced (replaced) every now and again but never seems to get done.

If youre looking at the engine from the front, top left corner of the valve cover is a metal nipple, thats the PCV.

You running an oil catch can? Check the hose on the back of the valve cover T. That line is the crank case breather, if its somehow clogged, then your crank case is using your dipstick as a vent.

Or like already stated, really bad blow by.

SR PCV = KA PCV??

Pretty sure theyre different. Heck, even S13 SR and S14/15s arent the same.

Make sure your Crank ventaliation is going to vaccum before the turbo.

Crank vent is not the same as PCV

Mine did this also every once in awhile, went to napa and bought a new tiny o-ring and it hasn't popped out since.
