Ok, since its gotten cold my gas mileage has gone down.  ALso, it occasionally smells bad, almost like gas.  its a 1990 240sx, and i hear there is an issue with the SOHC injectors.  Does this sound like the likely cause?  How much do you think it would be to replace them?  How many would i need to replace?  Would ineed to replace all of them?

Yep, that sounds about right.

It might just be the injector seals (o-rings), cheap fix.  If it is the injectors they're going to be somewhere around $100 each.  You only need to replace the leaking injector.

Is there any easy way to tell if the o-rings are shot? Or if the injector is indeed leaking?

I'm having a major problem with the throttle coming out of first. I have to rev to 3k to make sure it doesn't stall while letting out the clutch.

I've been having the same problem, installed new o-rings and no improvement. It does look to be leaking from the boss in the rail though...

I think my problem may be a scored boss as it would leak the same as a worn ring.

Test:
1-Take out the injector and remove o-ring
2-Clean everything really well
3-Get a q-tip and some petroleum jelly
4-Goop some jelly into the o-ring seat
5-Reinstall the o-ring
6-Goop the inside of the injector boss (rail side)
7-Reinstall the injector and rail.

If the leak stops for a while and starts back up again, it's the seal between the rail and the injector. If it keeps leaking it may be the injector body leaking.

BTW: Take it easy on the jelly, don't plug up the boss.

I had gas around my injectors in my 89 240 after consulting a number of mecanics. I came to one that told me it was the o-rings instead of having to replace 4 injectors like others said.

Beware change ur injectors o-rings if they still leak replace injectors I only have 1 leaking it dosent even smell like gas anymore. He save me big $$$. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
