I went to the local B and B auto part store, and I asked them what kind of clutches they had.  They said they had autospecialty and Beck/arnley.  The guy came out and said that he didnt have either but that he had Valumaxx, and said that valumaxx is a part of autospecialty and he claimed that it was more expensive than B/A which was $110 and Autospecialty which was $105.  (he said that valumaxx is $125 but he will give it to me for only 110, no tax). I took it but I can always take it back if you guys tell me that I should.  I can't afford to buy an expensive one cause I have to pay for the labor($200) so I can only stay within the $100 range, so tell me, did I get jipped or is valumaxx the same as autospecialty?

I don't know. Personally, when it comes to something as important as my clutch, I'd either go with a reputable aftermarket brand like ACT, Clutch Masters, Exedy, etc. OR OEM. I wouldn't settle for anything less than OEM. You don't want that cheapo clutch crappin' out on ya while you're driving.

ok guys , what you want to do is look at the pressure plate very carefully . A lot of companies rebox other brands.
Example 1 : Centerforce stage 1 clutchs are Daiken pressure plates with an extra spring added. Fact is the Daiken Pressure plate is a very well respected Japanese brand that is better than your factory plate and is right in your price range. We used to put them on our 510's and 240z's .
Example 2: Clutchmasters, again they are useing Daiken Pressure plates in all but their upper line clutchs. I called them and asked and they told me <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> .
Another brand that is good is loucks &nbsp;. Anyways if I saw your pressure plate I might be able to identify it.
These are good clutchs that are affordable and better than stock.
ACT , Clutch Masters and exedy are all trading on the import racing scene I am not saying they aren't good they are but you are paying extra for the name . sorry guys gotta call it like it is
