Just wondering where to pick one up. I've seen them on MANY SR20 powered 240's, they go from the top driverside(US) if the head, to the top of the driverside(US) strut. they're usually adjustable... any ideas???:wackit:

Phase2 has some along with other big retailers. IMO, they're not necessary, unless you're lazy to replace your motor mounts.

You're talking about the dampers right?

just get new motor mounts and tranny mounts. its a waste of money cause sooner or later you'll need new ones if the motor and tranny mount is crap.

and if your putting down enough power you could also break off the mounting point on the head were the dampener bolts up... its only one bolt one the head.

It's two bolts to the head. And you can find them by the dozen on Ebay. They're all the same shit.

i was looking into motor and trans mounts, but thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to get one of these as well. it's not intended to replace the mounts, but in conjunction with them.

What he was tryin to say is that if you just buy aftermarket mounts (ie Nismo, Projectsilvia, Cusco, etc.), they'll be stiff enough so you won't even need a damper for the motor.

Just check out the "pics of your engine bay" thread in the Chat section. Tell me how many of those engine bays have engine dampers. Many of them are high power set ups too. Just save urself the unnecessary $80 or whatever and just get good motor/tranny mounts.

They are ok, but they arent as good as a nice set of mounts.

Most aftermarket mounts that have been popularized are far too stiff for anything other than a fully caged un-registered race car.

Nismo is good, that what I have + a brace.

They don't fix bad engine mounts though, it's just a band-aid.

I need to get around to replacing mine actually :-/

Found a few... How stiff are the dampers? Are they all a shock-type? Or are there any sold like a solid link brace?

IIRC, none of them that I have seen are actual dampers. No fluid. Just a peice of poly inside the "shock" body, making them pretty much solid.
