So I just finished my motor setup (rods, pistons, 264 cams, springs, ras, gt2871r .64, 740cc, enthalpy tune, greddy im, etc...) and I am tired of the boost creep. After doing some research it looks as though external is the way to fix my issues. So basically I need to weld on a flange (planned on welding to stock manifold, but where exactly?), get a wastegate (planning on tial 38mm), weld the flap shut in the turbo (more details anyone?) and then I'm good to go. I also have a quwsetion about the springs in the wastegate. I plan on running 19-20 psi. If I use say a 15psi spring and set my EBC to 20 will I get creep issues again? Will I basically be limited to the boost the springs are set at? To recap, here's my questions...

-Good wastegates for my setup?
-Where to weld flange on stock manifold?
-How to weld flapper shut on turbo?
-Springs, EBC's, boost...huh?

Thanks.

i rock a 44mm wastegate tial is good stuff.

you wanna to weld the flange for the wastegate on the collector or right(right where all the runnes bend down to the turbo to get the best responce otherwise its gonna suck to do it twice_

welding the flapper is as simple as it sounds. weld the gate shut and take off the internal gate.

hks gates are good too. There are seriously tons of GOOD gates to use man. I use the HKS 50mm gate. Kind of overkill for my setup. But i got the gate for free, and i have proper spring setup. Works very well and is VERY RELIABLE

Hey SAC, I see you're from Utah, are you on Driftutah.com?

I run a 38mm Tial on my KA-T, it's sweet.

Let's say I get a Tial with the 18psi spring(s) setup. How well does it hold? Spot on? And can I turn it down with those springs or turn it up a little? Im clueless with these externals.

With an external, whatever spring you have in it, is the lowest boost that you will be able to run. You can turn it up, usually up to 2 times what the spring is rated without having problems, ie: 9psi spring max of 18psi
