I'm such an sr20 newb... Redtop harness=blacktop harness?

Throwing an s13 redtop into a s14. I need a harness. I know i need an s13 harness, but does it matter/make a differnce if i buy a redtop harness or a blacktop harness?

blacktop harness can be use on both red and blk top ecu's

red to red only

^^^Eh? First time ive heard that. Ive used a redtop ECU on a blacktop engine/harness setup. There isnt any difference between ECU pinouts or anything funky like that...alteast on the earlier blacktops...

all redtop and early blacktops (e5) are the same

later blacktops (J4) slight differences.. harness could be repinned to work with either/or.

Meaning what? Can a blacktop harness plug int a 62 ecu or not?

I've never had any issue mismatching redtop with blacktop S13 stuff. Harness, engines and ECUs...

Either way, your gonna have to do the S13 SR harness to work on your S14 chassis.

Yeah, i know about having to convert it the the s14 chassis. Just need to find a clean harness to work with now.

just an addition, i too have a redtop with redtop harness and 180sx type ecu.:bigok: good luck with build.
