So I bought my s13 coupe down in socal a week ago, and got all the major maintaince taken care of today. While i was getting the oil changed i noticed that the engine made a clicking noise, took a look and everything was where it's suppose to be nothing touch or anything. Put my hand on the vavle cover and felt a vibration that went along with the noise. im thinking it might be the timing chain which i hope its not. any input guys?

just take off the valve cover, its 10 bolts, i think), then at the front there is a chain, and a guide on top of that. it is held on by 2 bolts. take the bolts out, take the guide off, and replace valve cover. 20 minute job tops.

^ but it could also be the side top guide that's rattling as well which is a more in depth job.

yea, but if he feels it right at the top of the valve cover, im assuming its the top one. and based on his knowledge of cars, (not knocking on you, just sayin) that it woudl be best if he just took the top one off for now
