ive tried searching but found nothing similar to whats happening to me while i drive.heres a break down of what i got on my s14, coilovers, cusco 2-way lsd, adj. ruca's and toe rods, adj. tension arms and adj. tie rods. i have the car fully aligned and they couldn't help me,but while i drive on the freeway at speeds of 35,65 and 80 mph the car pitches sharply to the left as if the driver rear tire is locking. I've checked all studs that can link up the rear and and found nothing lose. if any one else has experienced this or might have a possible answer please let me know a.s.a.p. thanks for your time and input.

are you saying its pulling or it just suddenly swerves unexpected?

Is the driver side tire locking up? Does it pull to the left for only or to the right as well? Also is it possible that it pulls only when you hit a bump or a pothole? Did you install your diff correctly?

i'll throw 3 things out there: worn out bushings/ball joints, low tire pressure, bad pavement.. GL

maybe you need an alignment.

i have the car (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=178402#) fully aligned and they couldn't help me

Can you not read?

If the tire is locking up! Look at the wheel bearing.

check rear brake caliper, the piston may be freezed

check rear brake caliper, the piston may be freezed

That would be the first thing I would do. Also adjust e-brake and check bearing.

who installed the 2 way?

bad tire?

caliper/ebrake?

bushing/ball joint?

did you hit anything? only other thing i can think of is something might be bent. you might not be able to tell just by looking at it.

what size of rim? when you say the car pitches to the left do you mean the whole cars pulls to the left or just the back end?

You probably need to replace the wheel bearing/hub. Is there any noise form the back of the car? If there is, maybe the lash is incorrect but i'm not entirely sure if that would cause the car to pull in any certain direction?...

i installed the 2-way about 8 months ago,and had no problems with it.and when i say pitch the the left, the rear pitches and i have to correct the car back to the right. im running 18" 350z rims with 225/45 on all four. i am running 2 different brands of tires in the rear, but ive done that many times and never had a problem. i also jacked up the rear end and let it cruise in first gear. i heard no odd noise, the rims both roll perfectly straight. im gonna the drop the diff,re-inspect everything and change the fluid and check the wheel bearings as well. thanks for the input!

Put the same tires on the rear. WTF. Think about it. Hard locking diff with 2 different tires. It could lock at any time if they are not the same size. And don't say that they are the same size because they say the same number. They are different, change tires now.

well just got done dropping the diff, i put matching tires on rear (michellen piollit sport) and its still locking/veering to the left i just might have to take it in to a frame shop or something.

swap in an open diff, see if that makes any difference

If in a corner I would say diff.

I think it's a warped rotor or fried wheel bearing.

The wheel locks up then the diff locks to counteract and breaks the wheel loose. Diff is saving your ass.

i had a similar problem...wheen bearing fixed it.

lift the rear and shake wheel. If it moves then replace wheel bearing. otherwise check the rest of your bushings to see if they are okay.

i did that to both tires and they didnt budge at all! but it started to rain pretty hard so i had to call it a day on working on it.

I don't know if this been mentioned already because i didn;t read every single reply, but I had a friends cars that would kick out (so to speak) when shifting gears (the car was auto) and it happened to be also to the left but the problem was bad sub-frame bushung.

Also i'd look into the ball joints to.

if the car is pulling on you....
you should check your tires, make sure they are the same size, have about the same amount of tread.
Check your air pressure. Most common problem is the different in air pressure.

2 way LSD will lock up if you have different diameter wheels/tires on the rear.
Tends to pull one way.

Could blown subframe bushings be the culprit?

yea every time i shift gears the car will kick out and pitch to the left any brands of sub frame bushing you guys recommend?

my welded diff broke in my fc.. and i had simular symptoms, car would jerk to the left on throttle.. car is now 1 wheel drive til i get another diff to weld up.. But yah cant compare a welded to a 2way.

have you lifted your car up to see if both wheels lock? like lift the rear, and put the car in gear while the engine is on and both should lock up.. i know kinda dumb test but at least i found my diff was broken.. *yet it doesnt ocmpare to a 2way*

go with solid subfram collars spl parts carries them, there are so many brands but they all do the same thing

I just installed the URAS Pineapples and i am very satisfied with them. My subframe used to make a shit-load of noise until i installed these. Just about any brand is good, it just depends if you want ureathane or aluminum bushings. also make sure you buy the ones that have the slit cut out in the top so you don't have to drop the entire sub-frame. it will take about 15-20 mins. to install.

yea i did that test and both wheels still lock up fine. i do notice that the rear end is sqeaking pretty bad, i first thought it was a bad coil over, but their brand new. im gonna go pricing and see which i decide ill let you guys know the outcome.

i had this happen to me once after an event. what happened to me was my right tire delaminated and part of the tire wraped around the back of the bearing causing a lot of friction so that every time i would release the gas it would jolt to the left.

your problem is most likely something along these lines. you may not have something as obvious as peices of tire there but you might have a worn bearing of something else causing the left wheel to want to spin less freely then the right and when that happens the diff will lock quite violently.

it sounds like bushings. are they cracked and have play in them? worn bushing will cause the vehicle to pitch. the play in the bushing changes the alignment and with large rims, which tend to track, would easily cause the vehicle to veer. i see this all the time with bimmers.

i have the similar problem with my s13. i have a nismo 2 way, brand new installed 4 months ago and was running fine and straight. i m running 17x10 wheels on the rear with 275/40/17 on the back(same brand and thread). my stock sub frame bushing is making noise loudly anytime the 2way locks. until last week, my car pulls to the left everytime i step on the gas. if i let go the gas, it will go back straight. i dont no what do u mean my pitch to the left, but i hope u can get back to this post and let us know what happened. good luck.

i did the installation 4 months ago by myself. i pulled the open diff out, put in the nismo 2way. put in the shims the same way i pull out from the open diff(i ordered correctly with the part # for the open diff). drop some white-out on the gear and checked the touching spot, it was fine. put them back on the car and drive it without any pulling problem, only some locking noise when doing slow turn(and i think my sub frame was doing the noise too), but whenever i step on the clutch in a slow turn, all the locking noice or sub frame noise goes away.
NOW, the noise seems a little louder went slow turning. still no noise driving straight. it just pulling pretty hard to the left that i have to correct the steering whenever i accelerate. looks like a drunk driver driving on the freeway that couldnt drive straight. i really hope its not problem about the diff. i stop driving my s13 and hope to have it fix. please keep this post updated. thx
