Laboratory17 (http://www.laboratory17.com) has teamed up with Bob's Donuts (http://www.bobsdonuts.com), San Francisco's #1 donut shop, to bring you Grip & Slip 4.

NCDA might be gone, but former NCDA partner Don Ahn, who just happens to own the most popular donut shop in San Francisco, is still throwing track days at both Buttonwillow and Thunderhill.

And they're getting better every time.

"I'm not making any money with these track days. I like to think of myself as a philanthropist," says Ahn, who is more than happy just to break even on track rental and lunch costs.
Grip & Slip 4 is following a format similar to previous Grip & Slips: full course and two skidpads with three rungroups rotating every hour.

The first two Grip & Slips had drifting only on the East Side of the track, with grip on the West Side. Grip & Slip #3 had drifting on the full course for the first time.

Grip & Slip 4 will have grip-only on the full course, with drifting limited to the two skidpads. A Mini
Course will be set up on the north skidpad, with the smaller east skid pad open for donuts and figure-eights.

At the end of the day, there will be a drift competition on the Mini Course, with a purse of no less than $1000 and a vinyl graphics deal going to the first place winner.

Hopefully if my car is up to it, this will be my first event.

$1000 prize money, and less than 10 drift entries, what's going on? At minimum, think of all the tracktime.
