im living in japan now and looked at taking either a cefiro or chaser back for vip style. but its nearly impossible because of the safety regs in the states to get it street legal. it would be fairly easy to make a track car. just find a reliable source in japan that would be willing to break the car down to every individual piece, ship it there, then you rebuild as a kit car. but its alot of money. just google us shipping laws on cars. it takes some searching, but it shows whats required for alot of cars to get them over and legal

first...good luck finding a Cefiro in decent shape.
second they were only made from 1988 - 1993....so they are disappearing quickly. I am on the look out for an A31 with a 5 speed in it to drop an RB25DET into. Want the 5 speed in place cause the swap is a pain due to the e-brake setup.

Did that chassis ever make it to the states? isnt it an old maxima or something?

speaking of which i think the best sleeper drift car is the 81-83 Nissan Maxima - sedan - bascially 80% a R30 skyline it is . and look for a diesel version Nissan Maxima diesel - I wont say why but people in the know understand why.

No, it didn't make it to our domestic market. No it isn't an old maxima.

There was a guy in Riverside or Moreno Valley CA that posted here trying to sell his for a good price. Search the forsale column because I doubt he sold it. He said he "could" register it but never got around to it.(Track car) I owed two Cefiro's the last one was a SE2.5 with an R33 Eng/MT swap. Loved it till PCS because as mentioned it wouldn't be worth it to import. The early Q45 is the closest your going to get in the states.

The A31 never made it to the states. The A32 (FF with a V6) did as a Maxima.

No, Nissan went FF with the A32 Cefiro :(
Killed off an excellent car way too quickly.
